The
Conference Scientific Board Met:
The Most Innovative Presentations were
Selected for the 12th Passive House Conf
On November
12th the 12 members of the conference scientific board met
in Darmstadt for the evaluation of the abstracts and for the
selection of the presentations for the sessions of the 12th
International Conference on Passive Houses.
All
members of the scientific board were present; each Abstract
had been examined before by at least two Refrees.

The conference board meeting 2007 Nov. 12th
from left to right: Burkhard
Schulze Darup, Henk Kaan, Robert Hastings, Harald ruffle (partly
covered), Roland Digel, Matthias's von Oesen, Rainer Pfluger,
Rolf-Peter Strauss, Helmut Krapmeier, Organiser Barbara Löbau
of PHI, Wolfgang Feist - in the foreground on the left Mark
Zimmermann (unfortunately only his back), on the right hand
side Peter Holzer.
With
more than 180 submissions and only about 80 possible verbal
presentations the selection of the contributions was not easily
done.
The
predominant number of the submissions proved to have a good
to very good quality. Decisions were made therefore according
to the following criteria:
- Is
the submission particularly interesting for the participants
of the conference? In particular because of the innovation
content or because of particularly exemplary strategies
or because it concerns an innovative, helpful new component.
- Does
it concern an implemented, concrete example with model character?
- The presentation can be shifted - with profit - to the
subsequent year 2009 - this recommendation we gave in particular
for projects, which are not only yet or in the construction
phase - or, if there might be empiric reports and measurements
available in 2009.
Despite the large number of abstracts the board discussed
all submissions and made all decisions necessary for the conference
program 2008. All decisons were made with clear majorities
in each case.
The conference team thanks cordially for the concentrated
work of the scientific bord.
The notification of the authors with regard to accepted abstracts
for oral presentation or for poster session takes place at
the latest December 15th 2007. Please
do not call the preparation team, in order to inquire the
status of your submission - that will retard the work to be
done.

Build the
Future - Now!
That is the Motto for the 12th Conference on passive house.
What our future will look like - that depends on what we are
doing today. And we can always do better - to ensure a better
future for us, our children and our grandchildren.
Efficiency in Retrofits
In Nuremberg the first modernisation using passive house
components took place - it was a worldwide acknowledged demonstration
project, where a energy conservation of 87% was achieved.
We are looking forward to get abstracts on realized examples
of deep reduction retrofit projects for existing buildings.
